University and talent mapping for a shipping and manufacturing conglomerate

Client’s needs:

Being a global company the client had a high demand for well-skilled and talented employees, along with a need to identify the top educational institutions worldwide to meet their constant recruitment requirements.

More specifically, the aim was to find top engineering schools worldwide, together with the expected number of graduates for 2007, and to identify the best HR institutions in Poland and Sweden.

Method:

The project involved identifying top engineering schools in 15 countries. This was done by conducting telephone interviews with local recruiting and employer branding specialists, as well as with HR professionals from leading employers in the respective countries.

Universum provided detailed information about the number of graduating engineering students, by area of study, for 2007 at the top 130 educational institutions worldwide.
In addition, the best HR institutions in Poland and Sweden were identified

Solution:

By identifying the top engineering schools, and providing detailed information about the institutions and the number of students enrolled, the company was able to target and measure its recruitment activities to attract talent at the top engineering schools.
